Next to the prestigious renovated former factories, the Brussels Centre for Contemporary Art WIELS and the BATA residences, JCX is converting the industrial site Ducuroir into a passive and very low-energy housing project. Composed of regulated (Citydev) and unregulated housing units, the studios and 1 to 3 -bedroom apartments overlook a landscaped garden courtyard available to all the residents.

HISTORY

The 3600 m² site was the headquarters of a family business, the wood machinery manufacturer Ducuroir.

Conversion

Inspired by the “sustainable neighbourhoods” philosophy developed by Brussels Environment, the site is the focus of a sustainable development project oriented towards the well-being of the residents and respect for the environment.
Traits of the passive and low energy apartments:
